San Jose was founded in 1738 and is one of the youngest capital cities in Latin America. It was elected to the capital of Costa Rica in 1823 and is a modern city with politics, commerce and a bustling feel about it. The city is elevated some 1,162 m above sea and the climate year round is stable with 23 C on average. Being located in the middle of the country, San Jose is also a good center point for traveling around. The city is quite a busy place with a lot of traffic and things to do. Being the capital of Costa Rica it is also the gateway for many tourists who arrive from overseas locations.
Many consider buying a condo as an investment within the city due to the close proximity to all the action. Many styles of real estate are available and on the bottom line it depends what the individual is looking for when considering an investment property in Costa Rica. What is attractive for overseas investors is the possibility to buy real estate as a non resident. However to do this, a few requisites will have to be fulfilled first.
